The LDAA-EC is an organization dedicated to providing learning disability information to its members and to the general public. If you have questions regarding any kind of learning disability, please contact our organization and we'll be happy to assist you.
LD Resources Library
The LDAA-EC has a large resource library of materials related to learning disabilities. Our library holds hundreds of books, workbooks, audiotapes, and videotapes. The library includes learning materials for both adults and children. There is even a small selection of materials in French.
The resource library is open to the general public during office hours (9:00am to 3:00pm daily) or phone for an appointment. People with current LDAA-EC memberships may take materials out of the library for home use. There is no charge for this service.
Parent Information Sessions
The LDAA-EC hosts educational workshops designed for parents and professionals who need information on LD. These sessions are held on the last Wednesday of the month (except December and summer months) at 6:30 at Tevie Miller Heritage School. These information sessions are free to members and cover a variety of topics.
Parent Information Workshops
These workshops teach specific skills to parents, so that they may foster these skills in their child(ren). These workshops are offered as a series of 4.

- Skill of Getting Along – The skills of getting along with others
Adult Support Group
We are interested in starting a support group for adults living with learning disabilities or AD/HD. If you are interested in becoming part of a group please contact the office at 466-1011.
Parent Support Group
We are starting a support group for parents of children with learning disabilities. We would like to meet once a month to discuss books, ongoing concerns and to network. If you are a parent of a child with a learning disability or AD/HD please contact our office at 466-1011 for more information.
Beyond Words Social and Recreational Day Camp
This is a day camp for students who have completed grades seven to twelve and who have demonstrated difficulty with social skills.
Students will attend for six days in July, and then have a social skills homework assignment to complete over the duration of the summer. Students will attend for a further two days in August. Each day of the camp will consist of Direct Social Skills training in the morning, followed by practicing the skills in the community recreation settings in the afternoon.
Educational Assesments
Our office is now offering educational assessments for students who are struggling in school. These assessments will be done by qualified reading specialists and done at our offices. Please phone the office for more information 466-1011.
